Už aby bola jar.../ I wish it would be spring already...

Zobudilo nás slnko a my sme už od rána plánovali čo s takým krásnym dňom urobíme.

When I woke up yesterday and looked out my window, I was disappointed. It was snowing. So I had to pull out kid's gloves, scarfs, and warmer hats, which I put away for the year just the day ago, hoping we wouldn't need them anymore.
Eventhough it was snowing all yesterday, this morning was everything different. The sun woke us up and we were planning the beautiful day together right away.
We took out hockey sticks, balls, and frisbees and decided to spend our day in the sport manner. Our family can't wait for spring and summer, when we can go out for our traditional trips to see castles, caves, to swim, or just wonder in the woods picking mushrooms.

  2. I was born and live in Toronto but spoke slovak for my first many years. My parents both lived in Kosice before coming to Canada. I love your blog and have enjoyed practicing reading slovak. I also have 3 kids under 6 years old, so I have easily identified with your family. I was hoping you would suggest some slovak recipes. My mom was a certainly a good cook but some things she says were too much for her. How about halusky?
